We require regular testing of all staff to detect COVID-19 at the earliest opportunity. Sadly we confirm a fully vaccinated staff member has tested positive to COVID-19 and as a result we have been forced to place the centre again into full lockdown for the protection of our much loved residents.
The staff member contracted the virus from another family member in their home and was unaware they were infected until their test result came back positive.
We have reached almost 100% vaccination level (only 2 of our residents have refused to be vaccinated and 100% of staff are fully vaccinated). NSW Health advised that we need to be very cautious at this time in restricting visitations and directed us to lock down the home.
Be assured we continue to work closely with the health authorities to undertake all safeguards, including regular testing of residents and staff.
All close contacts of the staff are in isolation and COVID cleaning of the centre is being undertaken on a daily basis, while staff are provided full PPE and are following our outbreak management plan at all times.
We apologise for this difficult situation but are working hard under the direction of the health authorities to keep your loved ones safe and healthy.
